Apartment Review
I can't wait to leave
Review Date: 1/23/2006

I've lived here since July and I wish I had read these reviews before signing the lease. I think I've been a bit luckier than some other residents: my neighbors are quiet and my car has not been broken into (yet).

However, parking is horrible here. People park in the parallel spots all crooked, but I can hardly blame them as there is no other choice if you come home later than 7pm. Most of the cars here do not have a Casa Del Sol parking sticker (which is supposedly required or you will get towed after 48 hours). I have not once seen a car get towed here, even though there are cars here that have not moved parking spots since at least July when I moved here.

Yes, I also see bums rummaging through the trash, there is no security here to scare them away. The trash areas are disgusting--a lot of this is the residents' fault. If the trash bin top is closed, people here are too lazy to just lift it up to throw their trash, instead they just throw it on the ground next to the trash bin.

Management is horrible. First, my apartment had a HUGE ant problem the day after a big rainfall. The ants seemed to be coming from under the dishwasher. When I called management on a Wednesday, they told me I had to wait until the following Tuesday to get sprayed because that is when the bug man comes. Secondly, this is the second time in the last month that my building's hot water has turned off. At least last month the management left a note on everyone's door that the hot water heater for the building was broken and they would get it fixed tomorrow. (although I think it would be considered an emergency since so many people live in the building, they could pay to get someone asap). Again today, the hot water was not working. I called management and they said they knew about it and they would try to get it to work "later today." It is now after 6pm and it is still not working and there has been no note from management about it.

Other little things: our closet doors constantly break, problems with pipes backing up in the kitchen and bathroom, plus there are garbage disposals in the kitchen, but according to lease, you can basically use the disposal for nothing or else it will back up. What a joke.

I moved here because the rent was reasonable compared to other places in the area and it is very close to the beach. However, I now wish I had just spent a few hundred more per month to live in a place that was less disgusting and run much better.
