Apartment Review for Casa Del Sol Apartments - Huntington Beach, CA

We have lived here for almost one year now. We actually read the reviews on this listing before moving in and saw that while there were some problems reported, it looked like they were being worked on. We have since found out that our instincts were wrong. Within 2 weeks of moving in, my wife's car was broken into. That horrible action was compounded yet again, when 3 months later, it was broken into again. Neither time was anything stolen out of the car, but still, two broken windows and scratched up door in 3 months! Since moving in, we have had the master bathroom and the kitchen sink overflow 4 times. (We are on the bottom floor) Each time, we called the "emergency" line and it took the maintenance people over 45 minutes to come out before they could start to stop the flooding - not to mention cleaning up the mess. We even had to move out for 4 days one time while they cleaned everything up! The parking is absolutely horrible. We are fortunate and do have one assigned parking spot for our two cars. But four times we have come home late in the evenings to find someone else parked in our spot. The first time, we spoke to the management about it and they refused to do anything except shrug their shoulders. So every time after that we have called a local tow company and had the vehicles towed. And then as far as parking for our second car - if you get home any later than 5:15 p.m. - even on a weekday - you have to rid around the whole complex for at least 20 minutes until you get lucky and see someone leave to snag their spot. The management does have marked 48 hour parking spaces all over, but people still leave their vehicles there for literally months on end. Some vehicles have flat tires because they have been there so long. And then the management refuses to tow the vehicles. Now that our lease is almost up, the management sent us a letter to schedule an appointment to come by and sign a new lease - and it let us know that our rent is going up to $1,675.00 per month! You gotta be kidding! That is waaaaaaaaay to expensive for all of the bad things around here. I can go to the apartment complex right next door and get TWO assigned parking spaces for only $1,500.00 per month. Don't rent here - they charge too much for all kinds of trouble.
