I've written this review with the knowledge that most people are looking for a straight forward review to allow them to make a decision on a location to reside in. This review is as impartial as I can provide. 1. Noise: Since this is a pet friendly apartment complex, you will find a higher than average dog population here. Most dogs are left, or given access, to the balconies and patios, and all times of day and night, and the barking is left unchecked. Constant choruses of little yappy dogs and 200lb "I'm gonna eat you" type dogs are constant. There is usually a 7pm - 12am nightly visit from the H.B.P.D. air unit, because the neighborhood adjacent to this one is infested with crime. Nothing like hearing an MH-6 little bird pulling tight circles overhead while you are trying to sleep. It would seem that about 20% of the population here wants the other 80% to know how loud their car stereos are, how long they can burn rubber in the parking lot and the fact that they don't have a muffler. The only good thing about this is that you can hear them coming so you don't get ran over on your walks to the dumpster, or your 1100 yard hike to your car. We've heard all out brawls, fist fights, gun shots, parties, slamming doors, slamming beds, and every other form of ruckus you can imagine. Constantly, without end, and without resolve. Don't bother calling management, they don't care, and don't call security, they are too scared to do anything about it. You will see your fair share of police activity here. If you missed COPS on GT4 tonight, just step outside, you'll see the live action version. As many people as we've seen walked out in cuffs from here, I'm surprised there is anyone left to live here. 2 Safety: There isn't any. Security is an empty suit at best, and your best bet is to call the HBPD. If you need security, check the last car in the southwest corner of the parking lot, that's where they usually sleep. You can bet that during your stay here your car will be broken into at least once, even if you have it in the garage. Home invasions and break ins are not unheard of either. 3 Parking: Forget. There is none. You'll find yourself in a holding pattern until you give up and either park by Olive Garden, or the car dealerships (remember the car break ins? Almost every night on Viewpoint, Chrysler, Terry and Damask. If you get assigned parking, someone will be in your spot, and management will do nothing, and I assure you, it'll be the furthest spot from your apartment. At the end of your stay here, you will find the tricks that management will pull to get that few extra bucks out of you. They tried to tell me that I remained in the apartment 6 days past the time I turned in the keys. Tried to charge me for cleaning when the place was spotless, and for spots on the rug that didn't exist. I will say that it is simple enough to file in small claims court, and get your money back. Things that I didn't have a category to mention was the cockroach infestation and the mold. Buy traps and use bleach, because as I stated earlier, management isn't going to provide you any assistance. The vehicle gates are always broken, the garage remotes don't work, there are holes in the fences to allow local scum bags to cruise through the complex breaking into cars at will. Don't bother with visiting the pool, the live in wannabe gang bangers, and frat boys rule the turf there. You can always contact the HBPD and ask to speak to an officer that covers the beat for the Huntington Villas. They can give you an insight on how many calls and of what type they receive from this area. My final recommendation would be to steer clear of this complex. There are lower priced, larger units in nicer areas that you will be more pleased with.
