Apartment Review for Ocean Air - Huntington Beach, CA

This Apartment has been a nightmare. The Manager is an awful witch named Dee. She is the rudest lady I have ever met. I don't know how she still has her job, everybody here hates her. She has a very abrasive personality. Everything she says is in a condescending tone. Almost everything she says is a lie to manipulate the results she wants. Don't plan on getting any of your deposit back. She hires her friends and family as "Vendors" to fix any imaginary repairs and pays them highly inflated prices. She charges $150 of your deposit to touch-up paint (for her husband). $120 for cleaning behind the blinds (daughter in law). $55 for carpet cleaning though not stipulated in the contract. $500 just disappears if you had a pet. Heaven forbid you actually did something that warranted any of your deposit being taken. Maintenance doesn't fix a thing. We had a plumbing emergency with our toilet and Lee said no, not tonight, I'm not working tonight. For other repairs he will give you to parts and tell you to go fix it yourself. The pool is not heated. The only key to the exercise room is in the hands of the Evil manager who you never can seem to find in her office. There is no such thing as office hours, which is hard because to put money on your laundry card can take hours of hunting her down and then her being willing to get up from watching TV or Eating or any other thing she would rather be doing THAN HER JOB. Dee seems to like heavy turnover because that gives her more opportunity to steal from everyones deposits. She has filled a lot of the apartments with white trash family members from Porterville California, that she gives all kinds of special privileges to. They get lower rent, they get parking stickers for free when they cost everyone else $50. So basically they have given themselves 5 parking spaces and kept all the auxiliary garages that were supposed to be available to tenants to rent, so the tenants all have to park in the street. She constantly is promising upgrades to the apartments that never happen. Six months ago she said everyone would get a Washer and Dryer. All the closets were supposed to be mirrored wardrobes. All upstairs units were supposed to be installed with Air Conditioners. The only upgrade that has happened is she installed her private residence and private offices with an air conditioner. The neighbor noise is excessive. One tenant manufactures car parts from his garage to sell on E-bay, so get used to the sound of power tools. Expect lots of smokers and dog owners too. It is very over priced; it went from $1495 to $1695 in one year with no upgrades. They actually reduced the number of laundry facilities in that time period too. They are managed by A and M Properties, but the supervisor wont even take your calls to let you voice legitimate complaints. Shame on A and M Properties!!!
